The Golden Valley Collaboration was formed in April 2011. It is made up of four primary schools (Clifford, Longtown, Michalechurch Escley and Peterchurch) and one High School (Fairfield). We regularly meet to share ideas, organise future events and discuss how we can develop this exciting federation of schools.
During the autumn term (2011) Year 5 and 6 children from the four primary schools joined together to explore and investigate science through "Materials and their properties" at Michaelchurch Escley Primary School. Our pupils from reception, year 1 and 2 also visited Peterchurch Primary School to take part in their Happy Puzzle event, a morning of games and puzzles to intrigue and challenge.
This term (spring 2012) our Year 3 and 4 pupils will take part in an exciting "Forensic Science" event being hosted by Longtown Primary School. In addition to this our Year 1 and 2 pupils will meet at Clifford Primary School to help further develop their knowledge and understanding of our science topic "Electricity".
On Friday 13th January the Golden Valley Collaboration of Schools launched a competition inviting the children to be creative and design a logo that represents all five schools within the Golden Valley. The closing date for the competition is Wednesday 8th February 2012.
